Nutrition Philosophy

We have extensive experience seeing the difference diet can make to your pet's health, behavior, and the quality of both of your lives, and we have a passion for research and “hard” science to verify what we see everyday. We investigate internet “facts” to see how true they really are, and we actually enjoy reading veterinary science research reports.

We treat your pet, and your concerns, as if they are our own. We know how frustrating it can be to get clear information about pet nutrition.

We sell a variety of brands of food, all made in the U.S., Canada, or New Zealand. None contain by-products, and we test all of our brands on our pets.

We believe that in some cases, an appropriate pet diet may consist of raw, freeze-dried, or dehydrated food. Contrary to claims made by some trade or professional groups, a raw diet is not “dangerous.” The incidence of bacterial contamination in pet foods is far lower than, for example, the incidence of adverse reactions to veterinary vaccinations.

The food we sell in our store is prepared by companies who engage in the highest manufacturing and ethical standards.
